About CalcFacts

CalcFacts is a small, independent project built around a simple idea: most online calculators are either buried in ads, or they give you a number with no way to check it. We wanted tools that are fast, quiet, and transparent.

What we do

We build calculators for three areas where people regularly need a correct answer fast: personal finance, small-business planning, and developer utilities. Each tool shows you the inputs, the formula, and a breakdown of the result, so you can verify the math rather than take it on faith.

How the tools work

Every calculation runs entirely in your browser using standard formulas - the same ones used in textbooks and by lenders. Nothing you type is uploaded to a server, and we do not store your numbers. There is no account system because there is no need for one.

We test each formula against independently calculated reference values before publishing. When a result depends on an assumption (a tax rate, a constant return, a specific repayment rule), the tool states that assumption plainly rather than burying it.

Editorial standards

Guides and tool descriptions are written to be useful first. We do not publish content that exists only to rank, and we do not pad pages to hit a word count. If a topic falls outside what we can explain accurately, we leave it out.

How we make money

The site is free. We are supported by advertising, which is clearly labelled and kept out of the calculator area itself, and we may in future earn a small commission from recommendations to hosting, domain, or software providers. We do not accept payment in exchange for a favourable result in a calculator, and advertised content is always marked as such.

Corrections

If you find a calculation error or an out-of-date rule, we want to know. Get in touch and we will look into it.

Important disclaimer

Everything on CalcFacts is provided for general information and educational purposes. It is not financial, legal, accounting, or tax advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Results depend on the assumptions you enter and may differ from what a lender, broker, or tax authority calculates. Verify any decision that carries financial consequences before acting on it.
